Hi, I'm Ella. Ever since my teens, exercise has been my passion. I began teaching yoga full time after receiving my certificate from Moksana Yoga Centre, Victoria, BC in 2002. I also branched out into teaching the philosophy and ansana for moksana's teacher training program. This emersion deepended my awareness and understanding of the many great benefits of meditation & yoga practice.
I love yoga. It makes me feel strong in my body and calm in my mind (most of the time!). Yoga has been a refuge for me. In 2007, my family and I followed our hearts and made the move to Pender Island. I've continued to teach yoga through the Maintain your Independence (MYI) Program. After the sudden loss of my husband to cancer in 2014, I took some time off. I've returned slowly to my yoga practice and to teaching. I'm excited to now be offering classes out of my home-based studio, the Yoga Nest on Pender Island.
Naturally, over time, working, playing and everyday life can cause stress on our bodies. Taking time for ourselves is a key ingredient to staying balanced and feeling healthy and happy. I'm grateful to be teaching this beautiful tradition of healthful living and self-care. I hope to see you soon to share this powerful practice with you.
Namasthe and many blessings,
Ella S.
